Pieter Maeseele (PhD, Ghent University) is Associate Research Professor at the Department of Communication Studies of the University of Antwerp in Belgium, where he is Vice-Chair of the research group Media, Policy & Culture. He is currently Chair of IAMCR’s Environment, Science and Risk Communication Working Group, and member of the Management Committee of the European network for argumentation and public policy analysis (COST) and the Belgian Science, Technology & Society Network (B.STS), and a member of both PCST’s Scientific Committee and ICA’s Outstanding Article Award Committee. He is a founding member of the International Environmental Communication Association (IECA) and of DiscourseNet. Maeseele sits on the editorial boards of journals such as Science Communication and Journal of Science Communication, and of the Palgrave Studies in Media and Environmental Communication and World Scientific Publishing’s Science Communication book series.
